AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the top level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][99 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the club and helped the team win their league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time and the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals and 21 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and record 20 assists during the same calendar year and making her the sixth youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was subsequently named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
